Abstract:
The aim of this paper is to analyze, theoretical and empirically, the crisis of the multilateral regime of international trade, taking into consideration the great difficulties faced by the World Trade Organization (WTO) over the past two decades. This crisis contributes to the proliferation of Preferential Trade Agreements (PTA)s, a 1990s process that has been intensified in the early part of this century and tends to remain.
