Effect of sharing economy on tourism industry employment

Abstract: •We investigated the impact of a new economic phenomenon called sharing economy.•We explored the effect of sharing economy penetration at a macro-economic level.•We collected 657 Airbnb houses and industry data of 44 counties in Idaho State.•We revealed both positive and negative effect of Airbnb on tourism employment.
