Abstract: The frequency deviation of the grid was investigated using numerical analysis with a hybrid cycle with SOFC (Solid Oxide Fuel Cell) and hydrogen combined cycle (SHCC) or SOFC triple combined cycle (STCC) installed in a core substation and a general substation with variable renewable energy placed in the surroundings. As the introduction of variable renewable energy is growing, high-speed load following is indispensable. As a result, the inertia of the SHCC and STCC, as well as the grid's dynamic stability, were clarified. From the results of response characteristics of SOFC, gas turbine (G/T), steam turbine (S/T), and STCC, the convergence time of G/T to the maximum load was 1/900 for SOFC and 1/10 for S/T. Although the regulating power of G/T is most effective in stabilizing electricity supply and demand, the combination of G/T and S/T inertia constants must be optimized. The grid's frequency deviation is significantly influenced by the combination of PV installed capacity, STCC installed capacity, and electricity demand patterns. Furthermore, when a water electrolyzer is run with excess power from variable renewable energy sources, a sudden load is added to the grid, causing frequency deviation. As a result, control is required to supply power to the water electrolyzer.
