Abstract: This paper proposes a novel tent-dynamic cross coupled map lattice (TDCCML) by introducing the dynamic coupling coefficient. A large number of theoretical analysis and experiments prove that it has a larger parameter space and better chaotic property compared with the original cross coupled map lattice (CCML), which is highly suitable for chaos-based image encryption. Moreover, this paper proposes a bit-level color image encryption scheme using TDCCML, and demonstrates the good chaotic behavior of TDCCML from the aspect of encryption performance against the common types of attacks.
