Abstract:
The time-varying electromagnetic field in the media could be formed when there is a fluctuation in the concentration of charged ions across the membrane of neurons. The electrical activities of neurons will be affected by the electromagnetic field. In this paper, the effect of positive and negative field coupling on the wave propagation in the regular network is discussed. The mechanism for how the wave propagation is modulated by the field coupling will be explored in detail. It is found that different firing pattern could be detected under different conditions. The results state that the collective dynamical behaviors of membrane potential of neurons could be regulated and suppressed by positive filed coupling, but not affected by negative field coupling. The potential mechanism is that the frequency of electrical activities will have a distinct change due to the frequency of magnetic flux has a distinct change, and these two frequencies keep pace. Furthermore, the bifurcation analysis of single neuron and stability of coupled neurons network are discussed with different magnetic flux initial values selected. Then the synchronization statistical parameter confirm that positive field coupling could promote realization of synchronization.
