Abstract: The single-channel jet control strategy, with a suction slot on the upper surface and an injection slot near the trailing edge on the lower surface, has the dual benefit of both obviating the additional air requirement and effectively suppressing the reversed flow. Nevertheless, most studies focused on the control device application to airfoils leading to the three-dimensional rotation effect being ignored. In light of this, the objective of this study is to investigate the impacts of the single-channel jet control strategy with suction-injection combination on the rotational blade flow field. Numerical simulations using the Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) method accompanied by the k-ω shear stress transport turbulence (SST) model and the multi-reference frame (MRF) method are performed. It is confirmed that the control device can improve the net power output across a wide range of inflow wind speeds, particularly at low tip speed ratios. For instance, when the control strategy is applied to the span from 0.25R to the blade tip, the net output power can be increased by 45.68 % at a wind speed of 10 m/s for the NREL Phase VI rotor, and simultaneously the axial thrust is only increased by 23.98 %.
