Abstract:
This study investigates the impact of economic policy uncertainty (EPU) on the gross enrollment rate of higher education of 18 countries' from 1998 to 2019. Using the system generalized method of moments (SYS-GMM), our results show that the EPU has a significant positive impact on the gross enrollment rate of higher education. Furthermore, we observe that the EPU has a heterogeneous effect on the gross enrollment rate of higher education with apparent economy-by-economy differences. Compared with developing countries, the economic policy uncertainty of developed countries has a stronger positive impact on their higher education enrollment rate.
