Bo Li, Jianguo Du, Tianhang Yao and Quanding Wang

Finance Research Letters, 2023, vol. 58, issue PD

Abstract: This paper examines the impact of FinTech on corporate green innovation. Constructing regional FinTech development indicators from 2011 to 2021, we find that regional FinTech growth significantly contributes to corporate green innovation. According to the mechanism test, external attention has a moderating effect on the relationship between FinTech and green innovation. The more external attention, the larger the influence of regional FinTech on promoting corporate green innovation, and this mechanism is more obvious when the firms are state-owned enterprises or with excellent ESG performance. Overall, this paper provides experience references for the collaborative promotion of FinTech and sustainable development.
