Peer digitalization and corporate investment decision

Yuanyuan Jiang, Yuanxun Zheng, Wenwen Fan and Xi Wang

Finance Research Letters, 2024, vol. 61, issue C

Abstract: The degree of digital transformation within enterprises in the same industry can produce spillover effects, thereby affecting other enterprises within the industry. This paper constructs an empirical model to test the impact of peer digital transformation on corporate investment decisions. The research results indicate that peer digitalization can significantly improve the efficiency of corporate investment decision-making. Further research finds that this significant promotional effect is more evident in non-state-owned enterprises and manufacturing companies.
