Qian Xie, Haie Ke and Juan Peng

Finance Research Letters, 2024, vol. 62, issue PA

Abstract: This study examines the relationship between financial literacy and the consumption of elderly households. Using panel data from the China Household Finance Survey (CHFS), empirical analysis reveals that improved financial literacy can promote increased consumption among elderly households. Furthermore, the impact of enhanced financial literacy on enjoyable consumption is more significant than subsistence consumption's.
