The impact of digital economy on emerging employment trends: Insights from the China Family Panel Survey (CFPS)

Abstract: In the context of rapid Internet technology advancement, the digital economy is reshaping employment trends, transitioning from traditional structures to innovative work paradigms. This investigation, leveraging macro-level digital economy indices and micro-level data from the China Family Panel Survey (CFPS) spanning 2016 to 2020, unveils that the digital economy not only bolsters employment quality but also fosters the growth of new employment models. It highlights how the digital economy's facilitation of efficient information exchange on online platforms aids in aligning job seekers with suitable opportunities, thereby nurturing the sustainable evolution of these emerging employment paradigms.
