Abstract:
We study the kinetics of the single-layer deposition of dimers on the square lattice by a Monte Carlo simulation. In contrast to previous works, the probability of particle deposition is considered to be connected with the lattice site energy (adsorption energy). Assuming random topography of sites, we study the influence of a global energetical heterogeneity on the kinetics of the deposition process. The results indicate that in the case of Gaussian site energy distribution, the jamming coverage decreases with the increase of the distribution variance. The jamming coverage depends also on the topography of surface sites, and this dependence is illustrated for a two-centre surface.
