Nonquantum particle correlations in the framework of Bohm's theory

Savino Longo

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 2001, vol. 297, issue 1, 229-234

Abstract: When comparing the predictions of Bohm's theory for quantum ensembles of one-particle systems corresponding to a pure state, with ‘conventional’ quantum mechanics, two possibilities have been considered in the past: quantum equilibrium (ρ(r)=N|ψ(r)|2, where ρ is the hidden particle density, ψ the wave function and N the number of particles) and non-equilibrium (ρ(r)≠N|ψ(r)|2). In this paper it is remarked that a third possibility, commonly considered in ‘non-classical’ chemical kinetics, exists, i.e., though ρ(r)=N|ψ(r)|2, the detailed space distribution of hidden particles is not the Poisson one. An example is provided and discussed.
