Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 2005, vol. 354, issue C, 235-248

Abstract: We propose preparation of a superposition of 2N circular squeezed states of stationary fields inside a high-Q cavity. Statistical properties of this state (photon number distribution, sub-Poissonian effect) and other nonclassical effects (squeezing, collapse–revival of the atomic inversion, nonclassical depth) are studied. New interesting features exhibited by this superposition are observed, as one reminding us of the devil's staircase, showing a large sudden change in the variance of a quadrature operator, as well as the possibility to obtain a special family of squeezed Fock states, S^(z)|2N〉.
