Abstract:
Building on session reports collected over a span of two years, this Working Paper consolidates the extensive discussions that took place within the EUI Working Group on International Criminal Law. Under the banner of international criminal law, a broad variety of issues, including both substantive criminal law and procedural rules, as well as international case law and national jurisprudence, were addressed by the participants. Specific themes such as the principle of complementarity under the Rome Statute, the issue of immunities, and that of universal jurisdiction, recurred in the debates and are explored in this Paper.
