Women's Contribution to the Economy Through Their Unpaid Household Work

Abstract:
An attempt has been made to discuss various aspects of unpaid household work such as its treatment in the system of National Accounts, and the methodologies of its valuation. With the help relevant data from Indian Time Use Survey, quantification of unpaid work in the Indian economy has been attempted for two states, namely Haryana and Gujarat.
