Abstract:
The objective of this paper is to study the health seeking behaviour in patients reporting with cough of 3 weeks or more to Tuberculosis Units & Microscopy Centres in East District of Sikkim and to ascertain delays if any in diagnosis and treatment, and to examine the associated factors. A cross sectional survey that included 2 Tuberculosis Units and 4 Microscopy Centres was conducted in East Sikkim from 1.1.2003 to 15.3.2003. A total of 323 patients, reporting to the health facilities, were interviewed using a pre-tested interview schedule.[Working Paper No. 6]
