Abstract: The article discusses the role of space in addressing issues of economic development. The author states the fact that space can be an additional factor of strengthening the national macroeconomic dynamics in the case that the regions will significantly improve their investment situation and implement the most favored measures for functioning economic agents. This requires overcoming three fundamental limitations: a) changes in the general economic paradigm in Russia; b) the need for real investments at the regional level; and c) refusing the leading role of the government demand in the national economy
