Abstract: Urban rural integration is an indispensable prerequisite for achieving the objective of regional sustainable development, and exploring the impact of public employment services (PES) efficiency on the urban rural income gap(URIG) and its spatial spillover effect is of great significance for promoting integration in the new era. This study uses provincial panel data from 2011 to 2022 to explore in depth the impact of PES efficiency on the URIG and its spatial spillover effects by measuring and analyzing PES efficiency and its regional differences and dynamic evolution. It is found that the improvement of PES efficiency can significantly reduce the URIG, and the impact of PES efficiency on the URIG has spatial spillover effects. Therefore, in the future, the system of PES should be improved, the bias of PES should be reversed and the model of PES should be innovated in order to reduce the URIG.
