Abstract: Within the framework of the "City-Hub" European research project numerous interchanges have been studied in nine countries in Europe. We examine their role in local, regional, national or international transport networks. This article seeks to show the links between transport policies aiming at developing interchanges and urban policies creating development around these stations. We show that urban changes can occur in the context of integrated transport and land planning linking commercial development, new business offices and new housing.
