Abstract:
The existing modern world-system, which is a capitalist world-economy, is in a structural crisis, and there is no way for it to survive. To understand this, we must review (1) how the modern world-system has actually functioned, (2) why it can no longer function in that manner and is therefore in a systemic transition, (3) what happens in a systemic transition, and (4) what are the possible outcomes of this transition.
