Abstract:
In the financial world, references to ethical behavior have become more common than ever. This tendency is the consequence of our on-going and worsening financial crises. Broadly speaking, the financial world takes less and less account of ethics. Yet some areas, such as self-designated "ethical" finance and Islamic finance, continue to observe ethical principles. To a lesser extent, microfinance and social finance also follow ethical principles. This paper describes and compares the various types of finance.
