Abstract:
The purposes of this paper are to analyze empirically the impact of exports on Togo's economic growth with a model that relies on an augmented neoclassical production function and to test the causality between those exports and the economic growth. The data cover the period 1960-2014. The methodological approach is based on the cointegration and the causality tests. The results obtained indicate that the impact of exports on economic growth in the long-run is positive and significant at 1% level. The results indicate also the existence of causality and show that exports cause economic growth according to Toda and Yamamoto.
