Abstract:
"This report studies the practicability of a minimum wage monitor. The monitor report is supposed to observe the development of important labour market indicators before and after the introduction of the minimum wage, using aggregated statistics. The focus is on stocks, flows and changes of persons in employment, benefit receipt and/or unemployment. The planned contents and capabilities of the monitor are demonstrated within this report. In doing so, the report shows that the requirements of a minimum wage monitor can be met. The examples given in this report illustrate what kinds of analyses and forecasts are possible. The design of the future monitor's data base is flexible enough to allow for innovative reporting. The report 'Arbeitsmarktspiegel - Entwicklungen nach Einführung des Mindestlohns' is based on this feasibility study." (Author's abstract, IAB-Doku) ((en))
