Abstract: "This report describes the implementation of 36 expert interviews with HR managers on the topic of employer experiences with refugees, and compiles the findings in a structured manner. The employers were interviewed in depth in the fourth quarter of 2016 regarding the opportunities and risks perceived from an employer perspective on the integration of refugees into the German labour market. The vast majority of the establishments surveyed are very willing to contribute to the integration of refugees into the labour market. The 'benefit' to employers, or the relevance of the problems described, depends to a large extent on the qualification-specific field of jobs to be filled. On the part of the interviewed establishments, the refugees' work motivation was emphatically described as positive. The main reasons that stand in the way of successful integration into the labour market are: lack of language skills, lack of professional skills and cultural differences. Many respondents considered a lack of language skills as the greatest obstacle to successful integration into the German labour market." (Author's abstract, IAB-Doku) ((en))
