Analysis of Guarantying Food Security of Ukraine

Abstract:
Aiming at maintaining normal vital functions of a human being, the state must guarantee its citizens free economic access to foodstuffs. Globally, for food safety level assessment they use the system of seven key factors. The similar approach to assessment of food safety is also used in Ukraine. In the article the dynamics of actual foodstuffs consumption by the population of Ukraine compared to the rational rates recommended by the Ministry of Public Health of Ukraine. The relation between income and buying power of ordinary citizen of Ukraine has been analyzed. The self-provision index has been calculated which indicates the ability of the state to meet the internal needs in particular products of agriculture. The measures to be taken for ensuring the appropriate level of food safety have been determined. According to the author, without proper organization of management system for agro-industrial complex and consumer market development it is impossible to reach positive results in food safety provision in Ukraine.
