The Analysis of the Perceptions about Gender Equality on the Labour Market in Romania

Abstract: The capitalization of the potential and talent of women are needed to achieve the employment target set in the Europe 2020 strategy. The paper analyzes the main results obtained from a quantitative sociological investigation, based on a questionnaire aimed at identification of the perceptions of women occupying lower positions on the labour market in Romania on gender equality dimension. The main aspects concerns: the access to employment; the access to education and training; the choice of occupation; the satisfaction at work; the working conditions; the career advancement and also the reconciliation of professional and family life. The results of the undertaken analysis highlight the need to increase awareness of the benefits of gender equality, to support women in reconciling work and private life and of the development of women's career.
