 The non-technological side of technological innovation: state-of-the-art and guidelines for further empirical researchAna Maria Baranano International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management, 2003, vol. 3, issue 1/2, 107-125 Abstract: The need for new forms of organising activities to keep pace with the development and/or the application of new and/or improved products, services and/or processes has been widely recognised. There is, however, a need for further research into this topic. Thus, this article is an attempt to further the current knowledge on the organisational and the managerial factors which should be present in companies undertaking technological innovation. The article starts by reviewing the literature related to that issue. Then, it proposes empirical research with the main objective of identifying and assessing feasible methods to bring about the characteristics that mark out the innovative firms. The results of this proposed research will provide a better understanding of how to achieve and maintain the organisational and managerial factors which ought to work together to create and reinforce the kind of environment that enables technological innovation to succeed.
