Entrepreneurial passion facing its ecosystem's obstacles: the case of Tunisia

Abstract: Entrepreneurship is one of the most appropriate remedies to the various economic crises. It is presented as a complex process that faces several barriers, thereby inhibiting a project's implementation phase. In fact, after a careful review of the literature, we noticed that empirical research on reasons behind unimplemented entrepreneurial projects are very rare, suggesting a failure in modelling the process in general and the pre-start phase in particular. In this paper, we try then to identify the main constraints to entrepreneurial passion in Tunisia by studying a representative sample of project promoters who have been unable to carry out their business projects. Using structural equation methods, we found that these promoters face barriers like a lack in entrepreneurial training and services provided by supporting organisations.
