Abstract:
This paper focuses on three related issues and their integration: manufacturing systems, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Systems Engineering (SE). There are two contributions; the first is to customise SE processes towards PLM processes; and the second contribution is to set an SE framework for manufacturing. By such an original approach, we show that PLM can be a linkage concept between the development of final-product and the development of enabling-product. A case study is presented to illustrate the last point.
