Abstract:
The paper describes the imputation procedure of the main variables of small and medium-sized enterprise balance sheet. The procedure is used as part of the project aimed at creating an integrated system for the production of detailed estimates on enterprise economic performance. The variables are imputed using mainly adminis- trative sources as Financial Statements, Studi di Settore and Tax return. The proposed procedure represents an integrated set of different imputation techniques: Predictive Mean Matching, nearest neighbor donor, and a two-step procedure for the treatment of variables characterised by a high presence of zeros. A first evaluation of the pro- cedure is carried out by comparing the estimates based on administrative data with those obtained by the use of sampling weights.
