Abstract:
This study examines the effects of death anxiety, health anxiety and environmental anxiety on the intention to purchase eco-friendly products and consumption behavior. This study also aimed to determine the mediating role of health anxiety, environmental anxiety, and intention to purchase eco-friendly products. People who buy eco-friendly products were identified via an online survey, and the data of 465 participants were analyzed with Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling technique. A significant effect of the exposure factor of death anxiety on health anxiety was determined. The suffering factor of death anxiety influenced environmental anxiety. Environmental anxiety, on the other hand, affects the intention to purchase an eco-friendly product. The intention to purchase an eco-friendly product also impacted ecofriendly consumption behavior. Environmental anxiety plays a mediating role between death anxiety and the intention to purchase eco-friendly products. The intention to purchase eco-friendly products also mediates the relationship between environmental anxiety and eco-friendly consumption behavior. Death anxiety forms the basis of health anxiety, environmental anxiety, intention to purchase eco-friendly products, and consumption behavior.
