The latest research in the field of alternative energy in the advanced countries of the world is analyzed. The problems of energy consumption and energy efficiency in Ukraine compared to the countries of the EU are outlined. The growth rate of renewable energy in the EU, including the structure of the energy balance, is analyzed. Ukraine’s high potential for generating alternative energy is emphasized and the country’s energy balance is investigated. The dynamics of consuming renewable energy in Ukraine is defined.
