Abstract: The present article proposes a review of the most influential theoretical approaches on values, showing their contribution to contouring a postmodern perspective on social values. We oriented towards Schwartz's approach, Inglehart's theory of modernization and postmodernization and Hofstede with the five dimensions of culture.
