Identifying the Components and Importance of Intellectual Capital in Knowledge-Intensive Organizations

Abstract: Intellectual capital is considered as one of the vita strategic assets for the success and sustainability of the organization in a competitive business environment. Intellectual capital is also recognized as the most crucial asset for the survival of knowledge intensive organizations. The aim of this study is to explore the components of intellectual in order to comprehend the concept and applications of intellectual capital indepth. Subsequently, to fulfill the objective of this study a comprehensive related literature review was performed. The related literature showed that there are six components of intellectual capital namely human capital, customer capital, structural capital, social capital, technological capital and spiritual capital have been identified.
