Moderne Ökonomie ohne Wachstumszwang: ein Wunschtraum?
Christoph Deutschmann
WSI-Mitteilungen, 2014, vol. 67, issue 7, 513-520
Abstract:
The article outlines a micro-macro-model of capitalist dynamics, focusing on the interaction between class structures and “entrepreneurial” orientations and mobility chances at the micro level. With regard to the macro level, a distinction is made between socio-economic and demographic context conditions of growth on the one hand, and institutional and infrastructural conditions on the other. Whereas the latter conditions are usually better developed in mature industrial economies than in emerging and developing economies, the contrary is true regarding the former. Therefore, with the rising socio-economic maturity of a country increasing conflicts are to be expected between capitalist property relations and declining or absent economic growth.
