Food security: strategic sourcing and value creation in the food supply chain

Abstract: This paper describes the possible resource selection, and the value creation within the supply chain to balance the market demand with the production of the food processing industry. It highlights the need for distribution network, supplier value crea-tion, quality packaging, and cost reduction within the supply chain by proper selection process, implementation and effect of new technology in food processing, and quality management, in a business-to-business context. The paper presents a case study based on interviews and research, in accordance with the risk factors involved.
