Abstract:
The aims of the research are to know whether there is an effect of motivation and compensation to employee performance at PT.Kereta Api Indonesia. The samples of the research are all of the population that consist of 65 employees. The method of data collection for this research are field research by using questionnaire and observation, and also by conducting library research and interview. The data of this research was analyzed by using multiple linear regression test. Based on the test by using SPSS, it was occurred Y = 19.098 + 0.000X1 + 0.538X2 which can be interpreted that motivation variable (X1) and compensation (X2) have an effect of contribution 52.8% to employee performance variable (Y) and the other 47.2% is affective by other factors beside motivation (X1), compensation (X2), and employee performance (Y) which are not explained in this research. By conducting hypothesis test using partial test (t-test) and determination coefficient (R2) while data processing using SPSS 20 program. The result of hypothesis test that value of thitung for motivation variable (X1) is 0,005 with significance 0,996. It shows that the value thitung < ttable which is 0.005 < 1.669 so that H0 is accepted and H1 is rejected. It means that the motivation variable did not affect partially to the employee performance. The value of thitung for variable (X2) is 8.289 > ttable and significance value 0.000 < from alpha value (0.05), so that H0 is rejected H1 is accepted, it means that compensation variable (X2) did not affect partially to the compensation variable (X2) and affect posstively and significantly to the employee performance (Y).
