Abstract: Research on the relationship between the deficit of the state budget and government debt from 2009 to 2021 aims to find out an explanation of the role of government debt in financing the budget deficit in Indonesia. The type of data in this study is secondary data. The analytical method used is descriptive method. The conclusion of this study shows that there is a positive relationship between the deficit of the state budget and government debt. This is due to the high deficit financing made through the government debt.
