Disadvantaged groups in the labour market

Abstract: SUMMARYEmployment rates vary among different groups of the population, affected by factors such as age, sex, region, ethnic origin, disability status and level of qualification. Some groups face particular barriers to entering, remaining in and progressing within employment. This article considers the economic activity of groups that are considered to face such barriers and be disadvantaged with respect to opportunities for employment.
