Abstract: This note describes the sources and methods used to construct the World Carbon Pricing Database (WCPD). This database contains a harmonized record of the sectoral coverage and prices associated with carbon pricing mechanisms implemented worldwide at the national and subnational levels over the period 1990–2020. The dataset follows IPCC 2006 sectoral disaggregation, which allows for a straightforward integration with other datasets following the same structure. An interactive dashboard visualizing the data can be found here.Read the full working paper here.
