Abstract: Research is devoted to the search for possibilities of accelerating of socio-economic development of the Russian Federation due to the formation of a new approach to investment policy based on increasing the efficiency of investments, increasing under-investment rate today, as well as their share in GDP. The paper discusses the sources of increased investments, mostly domestic, developed measures to improve the investment climate, investment substantiates structural changes in order to ensure accelerated economic growth and social development, identify possible areas of development, is the engine of accelerating socio-economic development of Russia, as well as investment Credit to overcome the downturn in economic and social development of the Russian Federation, specific examples of formation of regional investment policy; make informed conclusions about the trends of domestic support for science and innovation sphere.
