Working Papers from Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration
Abstract:
This work continues the study of the anatomy of the geographical concentration of Russian industries and firms. Applying the method of Ellison, Glazer and Kerr, I estimate the relative importance of various factors in the observed process of spatial concentration of industrial production in the post-Soviet period. It is shown that the most significant factor was the attraction of large cities.
