Abstract:
The historical peculiarities of Russia as a multi-confessional and multi-ethnic state, and current challenges associated with the global reformation of the world, strengthening the religious factor activity, the development of religious fundamentalism and radicalism, the increasing role of ethnic identity, necessitate the analysis of ethnic and religious specificity of regions of Russia, given the intensification of migration processes who became one of the major factors of influence on the regional political situation. In recent decades, the Russian Federation is faced with the consequences of a foreign (mainly from neighboring countries, primarily from the Central Asian states) and internal (mainly from the North Caucasus republics) migration, greatly changing social and demographic situation and in many ways provoking social and political activity of the ethnic and religious factors. Analysis of ethnic and religious specifics of Russian regions will allow the regional and federal governments to improve the mechanisms of ethno-national, cultural and social policy, to carry out preventive measures aimed at reducing the risks of ethnic and religious conflict, interfaith and intercultural conflicts.
