The effects of global crisis on the Romanian tourism

Abstract: According to data published by the Statistical Office of the EU, the spread of financial crisis has affected tourism in the EU of course. According to statistics, last year, spent the night in hotels in the EU was 1578 billion, registering a decrease of 0.5% over the previous year. The same number saw an increase of 3.4% in 2007 compared with the previous year and an increase of 2.9% in 2006. If an analysis of different periods, you can see the obvious influence of financial crisis on tourism. Compared to the same period of 2007, between January and April 2008, spent the night in the hotels registered EU increased by 1.6%. This figure decreased by 0.5% between May and August and between September and December when the crisis worsened, this number has dropped drastically to 3.2%.
