Abstract: The paper focuses on the importance of social capital as a significant cause of territorial innovation in French agriculture. Social capital, as a relational resource, is embedded in a social network of innovation which is created by different agricultural professions also known as rural professional identities. A social network of innovation is related in our case to the agricultural professions and differentiated according to their capacity of changing more the interaction capital rather than the technological assets of everyone. More than the social relationship itself between individuals and the resources carried on by everyone, we emphasize the importance of their integration in a social network. Thus, two types of agricultural professions profiles are highlighted (Ceapraz and Delhoume, 2014) and related to territorial innovation.
