Abstract: In this paper, the authors focus on the statistical analysis of the pensioners in Romania, and also on the pension systems. The analysis focuses on indicators such as number of pensioners, per total and by categories, early retirements, the report between the number of retirees and the number of employees, the average pension, evolution of the pensions, the structure of pensioners’ category. Data and information that substantiate the research are presented in tables and charts. The evolutions of the indicators are placed within the economic context of Romania, emphasizing the measures and events that occurred during the respective periods.
