Migrants remittances – an important and stable source of external funds, in the economic development of a country

Abstract: This article aims to analyze the remittances from migrants, their impact in the economy of the origin country and their influence in the households from the origin country. Remittances are considered an external source of funds, significant and stable, that helps a country’s economic development. Some macroeconomic determinants of remittances have been identified. Also, were presented some aspects of the remittance market in Romania, one of the top countries in the EU after the growing number of migrants.
