Abstract:
Hakkanese culture relic’s museums are cultural centers of Taiwanese counties and cities but also venues for holding cultural activities. The museums collect and revitalize local cultural resources. They can act as local museums, show halls or exhibition halls, and bring job opportunities and economic benefits; however, many museums are restricted to existing spatial planning, or have insufficient space or cannot meet needs in response to diversified development trend. Even worse, some of them museums lack management and have weaknesses after going into operation. In order to understand current situations and future development trend of Hakkanese culture relics museums of Hualien County Government of Taiwan, this study conducted literature collection, review and analysis. It also adopted bottom-up model and interactive model in local informal discussion, workshops and in-depth interview so as to deeply discuss internal and external environment of the Hakkanese culture relics museums, and collect industrial, governmental and academic opinions. We also conducted qualitative and quantitative analysis, SWOT analysis, TOWS analysis, Analytic Network Process and BCRU (The Business model of Culture Relics Museums) established by using SAW to analyze external environment and threats of the Hakkanese culture relics museums, and deduce WT strategies, WO strategies, ST strategies and SO strategies of Hakkanese culture relics museums. The BCRU is feasible after numerical example and expert discussion. It can be used in empirical analysis of the Hualien Hakkanese culture relics museums in Taiwan, providing reference for formulation of business strategies of other Hakkanese culture relics museums in Taiwan or other similar cases in other countries.
