Abstract:
In this paper the fiscal policy in Latin America is analyzed, considering its historical weaknesses and its current improvements. For this, we characterize the fiscal evolution since the 1990s, attempt to point out the main features regarding fiscal behaviour in the region and finally present relevant challenges to make fiscal policy in the region more sustainable.
